I have had bad experiences with other dealers with their applications of rustproofing and paint shields. I am looking for feedback if the paint shield actually works. Do the BMW dealers do any better applying it than other dealers (Plymouth & Buick)? Pure silver S with everything. Due date is 9/5/02.

All those rustproofing crap from the dealer is useless. Your car already has a layer of clear coat, just wax your car as soon as you got her from the dealer and wax regularly (depending on your driving style) from then on and you'll be fine. I thought the car has a life time warranty for rust??

By the way, if you want to get some good wax, use mother's or zainos, they're the best in the market in my opionion. You can get mother's at your local Pep boys, and zainos from here:

Personally, I really like the Zaino, it's the best I have ever used. Hope you enjoy your car, and don't drive behind trucks (the rocks that they kick up with scratch your car for sure... )
