Back Again with a different one!

Hello everybody!

Ok i use to have a Pure silver Cooper S, I had to sell it because i was moving from mexico to usa. Now, I just ordered a new one (in USA) but this will be Chilli Red! I know chilli red is harder to maintain looking great than Pure silver. I also remember that i read somewhere that you should NOT wax a new car util the paint seals. Am i right? or maybe i was just having a bad dream an invented that? So the question is: is it safe to wax the car as soon as i get it home from the dealer? if not, how long should i wait? should i do more than just wax? what you guys recomend? should i also ask te dealer not to detail anything on the paint of the car?

Congrats on the new MINI. The paint is fully cured by the time you get it. Yes go ahead and wax. I would clay it first though, then use a paint cleaner like Amigo then a wax like Epic to protect.
It's a long trip here for a MINI, I think I would want the dealer to do the prep in case there has been any damage. Maybe you can oversee the clean up to make sure they aren't abusing your new baby. I'm sure you'll get lots of great advice from these guys
