Rain-X stains?

I've been using a Rain-X laced washer fluid for years, but on my new mini the washer fluid appears to "stain" from the washer jets all the way north to the glass, but its most obvious on the plastic trim. It comes off easily, even a light rain.

One of the guys at ye olde local car shoppe suggested I "put oil on" that plastic, and it would keep the stain from appearing.

Does that make sense? Is there a better way to prevent this? I love this washer fluid!

Hmmm...I use actual Rain-X washer fluid and haven't noticed this. But I don't use my jets often, either.

I would get some Black Wow. It'll protect the trim and remove any staining you might have. It seems pricey but it takes very little (maybe 1/8th inch out of the bottle, max) to do the entire car's trim, and it lasts for a good 4-6 weeks.

Porkchop another option is to use the RainX towel wipes. I've been using those and I've found them superior to the liquid version.

It might help to water down the Rain_X washer solution. It goes in pretty strong.
