Roof Graphic Care
Roof Graphic Care
I have seen much talk on this forum about the care of the bonnet stripes, and if it ok to wax / polish / clay them.
I was going to purchase a new "Union Jack" roof graphic from either Mini or Cooper Flags, and I decided to go with the Mini version, because it left a white boarder around the roof, where the Cooper Flags version, covered the entire roof into the rain gutters. I will be installing next weekend.
On the Cooper Flags site, they give very clear instructions on NEVER WAX the graphics, and only use a care product such as 303 AeroSpace Protectant.
Can some of you experienced detailers provide your thoughts on how to best care for a roof graphic? OctaneGuy?

Yes, I highly recommend you treat it regularly with 303. It blocks UV, but unfortunately easily washes off. Without it and just wax, my perforated sunroof graphic started tattering after two years.
The roof graphic is made with the same vinyl as the bonnet stripes. So why not treat it the same ?
Mine isn't very old so I haven't polished it yet. But I spray it with Hydro (contains wax) after every other wash and it looks as good as the did it the day it was installed (of course, it's only about 5 months old).
