Holy Moly!!!
I'm going to leave my boyfriend and marry Simple Green!!!
Brake dust? What breakdust? Nothing but absolutely pristine and sparkly rims for me!!! Just gave Ollie a little bath today--my first Simple Green experience--and I have never seen anything melt brake dust like this stuff. Is this a normal reaction? Was anyone else completely shocked by the products effectiveness the first time they used it?
Woah...
^^ So.... so... you mean I can use it directly on my paint????
*staring in wide wonder*
I was worried that the bugs had become a permanent bonnet feature! Do I need to wax after using the Simple Green?
MINIclo... I think you just made my day even brighter!

I had my first Simple Green expierence a few weeks ago, and it was the whitest my rims had ever been since I picked it up from the dealer..

I've been waxing the wheels on the MINI since we got it two weeks ago. After a couple good coats of wax, the brake dust falls off just under a water spray. Your wheels are painted just like your body, consider waxing them as a protection.
I detail cars, and use Simple green for many things. I usualy spray the wheels before I fill up the bucket for a wash (no need for expensive wheel cleaners). Then just spray them down with my pre-rinse. You can use it for spot spraying interior or a deoderizer. It also works good as a degreaser (what it is designed for). There is a delution chart on the bottle.
Once you buy it you will want a gallon of it. It works out cheaper that way.

I agree that simple green rocks..but a few notes - rinse really really really well or it leaves behind a slimy film if using it at full strength...this will actually attract dust...and if all over your rotors won't help in the braking area. If you use it on any surface you wax it will strip it off and you will need to rewax...I personally don't ever use anything this strong, but then again I was several times a week so nothing gets baked on much. I wonder if simple green will affect the clear coat at all?
^^ Well, I've never used a wheel cleaner that worked as well, so it's pretty special to me for that reason... but I think the greatest thing is that, in addition to working perfectly, it's also non-toxic and biodegradable.
And one little spray bottle makes something ridiculous like 5 gallons. And it's cheap. It also smells good. It removed a chocolate ice cream stain from a shirt of mine. Oh, and it cleaned up all the scuff marks on the door sills and around the pedals.

Simple Green is the best!!! I have been using it clean my white 5 stars since I got Beepers. Simple Green doesn't contain harse chemicals so it shouldn't damage the clear coat on the wheels. I am going to have to try using a diluted solution of Simple Green to take off caked on bugs too.
I must be missing something, where does all this hard to clean, caked on brake dust come from?
I've washed the car 5 times and just rinse the wheels off, hit it with the sponge, and rinse and they come clean.
