Monster Fluffy VS Waffle Weave
Monster Fluffy VS Waffle Weave
I'm going to place an order for some Hydro (my first) too give it a try.
While on the site, I thought I would get a couple good towles.
My MINI is black, so I'm trying to keep swirles and scratches to a MINImum
. Whats best for me monster fluffy VS waffle weave? I try to wash and dry my car stuff alone but sometime my wife tosses it in with the regular laundry so which is easier to take care of?
Thanks

All microfiber towels should be washed apart from other cotton items. You'll end up with lint city if not (and you can't pick it out, I tried).
As far as waffle weave v. Monster Fluffies - waffle weaves excel at absorbing water (ie. drying your car) while Monster Fluffies are not really good at this. What Monster Fluffies are good for is an ultra-soft tool for buffing off wax and applying QD. I use both towel types.
FWIW - the waffle weaves from DP come in both purple and white. I have found very little difference between the two.

I just got some Monster Fluffies and they worked great drying my car. A regular size one dried the whole car.....I have waffles too. You can never have too many drying, buffing, waxing, etc towels. For sure wash them all separately and preferably air dry the Fluffies.

Once you start buying nicer car care supplies, you're going to want to make SURE you take care of them. For the towels, buy a laundry bag or hamper specifically for your microfiber towels, and tell your wife to leave those alone--you can be responsible for washing your own towels and you will be thankful for it.
As MiniMaybee stated--Waffle Weaves are for drying your car after you wash it--and that's how Hydro is best used--sprayed on a wet car and dried with a MF Waffle Weave.
However, you can also use Hydro on a dry car and in that case, I use my Monster Fluffy to wipe it on and dry it.

Just tell her you are investing in all this stuff so you can keep her car clean. She'll then love you for it!
Yeah, well wait till she sees the $200 bill for a PC, the $100 bill for polish and wax not to mention the $150 bill for your new car cover after you've gone to all that work and want to keep it clean.

MAN! it looks good. Thats why I want to get some good stuff to dry him off.
She has a MINI too. My plan is to tell her that this stuff is for her 3 step detail.
I'll have to do a good job on her car but thats OK.Now I'm off to place my order
Thanks again everyone

Well just remind her how much it will cost to pay for a detail for both MINIs, twice a year thanks to using cheap towels and the local car wash.

Don't try to justify it- just admit the addiction or threaten to take up golf-now that's an expensive habit!!! My Dad's been an avid golfer for years and I'm not so I have a GREAT example of what a really expensive hobby is alwasy at ther ready for my wife.
Yeah, well that's making the potentially salty affumption she would care if it was detailed or not.

Well IMO, she doesn't HAVE to care, if the OP would be paying to have both cars detailed.
Guys do that you know? They want to keep their toys looking good--though of course, they are more likely to keep their own toys looking good, but if we buy the tools that helps us do that, it's quite a bit easier to justify it to the significant other that it's going to save money in the long run and she will benefit too.

*raises eyebrow*
I'm not sure. Because speaking physics terms, you need SOME buffetting of the ball by the air (thus the dimples on the ball)...but if Epic speeds up the buffetting...
Hmm. This might require a test.

Hmm, maybe it will be so slippery that he won't be able to hit the ball straight, and will then get so frustrated with golfing that he will give it up and now ML has no more leverage for her detailing. Sounds like a bad idea to me.

I started out with two new 5 gallon buckets with lids - one marked "Clean", the other "Dirty"
That was good for a while.
Now I have enough clean towels that they won't fit in BOTH buckets combined. So I'm going to have to come up with a new system...
And I bought a three shelf plastic cabinet (meant to wall hang) and put it on casters for my detailing supplies. Works great, I can just toss my little handheld caddies of various stuff in there.
Now I've outgrown that, too... Geesh.
All those Prima gallons take up a lot of space...
Granted all these supplies are expensive, but it sure feels good to wipe your car off with these different towels and products, and know that you are not doing a number on your paint. Windows clean off so easy. I used to get tired trying to get the paint to look good, and no matter what it still looked like crap. These new products have my interest again. It's great when the car looks like you did something to it rather than just waste time.
