I would just like to note that the 'crazed OCD group' isn't where you want to be, your wallet will shrink rapidly, your weekends will be engulfed with swirls and water marks, your wife will develop a dislike for your new habits, kids will become astrange....Who am I kiddind, HAPPY DETAILING!

Pictures after wash and clay

Well, it's raining here every night but at least last nights round wasn't raining mud. Was able to just rinse and dry and finish claying! Here's the pictures. I'm pretty happy with the results. Tried a little Finish and then Swirl on the stripes and they look better but probably forever beyond perfect. Big decision now is whether to Amigo before Epic or not - running out of time and energy. I'd like to have Epic on it before the long drive from the Texas Panhandle to southeast lower Alabama.

Glad to see that the scratches/paint transfer around your gas cap came off. Overall, it looks GREAT!

Beautiful! Really beautiful!

If you're feeling short on time, just use Epic this time. You can always do Amigo the next time you apply Epic. Since you've just abraded, you don't need the paint cleanser attributes of Amigo so you'd only be getting the concealing/filling attributes. Honesty, your paint looks great and you can easily get away with skipping Amigo this time, IMO.
Better to get your protection on before your trip.

Roger that. My knee (and my poor abandoned family) will apreciate the one less step. Though my son (4) has been spraying the lube for the clay during some points.

I didn't realize you lived in West Texas. Had I known this I would have told you to not even bother with the waxing and cleaning. Come March the sandstorms will blast all your paint off anyway!
I lived in Seminole for four years and each spring I watched a little more paint head East as the sandstorms blew it off our T-Bird.
I think I would stop right now, get some Rhinocoat and just do the whole MINI in it.

Well, hopefully Alabama won't be that bad. We load up next week and head east.

Sad thing is that the pics in the Sig line with the top up were when I picked up the car new

Final Product

Well, it's not perfect. Did the Epic a second time (used enough this time). Was so pressed for time I epiced over a bug or two on the lower front grille But I think it turned out ok just the same. Still need to do the wheels and the door jams but that will have to wait. What do you think?

Looks great, nice self-portrait. Why the move?

Your Cabrio looks great, I do hope you get to spend some more time with it and the family.

Keep us informed on the drive to Bama. Take time to smell the roses and take pictures.

Moving because of the Army. Taking the family to the next post and should (hopefully) be home for the next year to enjoy them and the car

Gracias. I keep seeing what I should have done (especially getting around the badges and opening the bonnet to get the crevace there). Over all I'm happy with it and next time it will be easier (I'll have a garage again)! Don't know if I mentioned this anywhere but I just washed my wife's SUV and used hydro - great stuff. But (sorry Ken) can see a difference with the Epic (and it hasn't even fully cured yet)

^^ no, your Hydro hasn't cure yet either. take a look tomorrow.
plus, you need to do half of the car with epic and half hydro if you're going
to do a full comparison. it has to be done on the same car.

I saw on the other thread you had made it to your new home. Keep the shine up and have fun with the kids, wife and MINI over the next year.

I suspected the Army, but never sure. My nephew is going back to Pendleton and 29 Palms for some training, then to another deployment. Daughter's boyfriend is a crew chief on a BlackHawk in Iraq, so it is good your home for some decent downtime.

Let us know how the dealer saga turns out. Hopefully you will not need any service other than an oil change. You have the detailing all figured out.
