Descent Into Cleanliness

maximize the wiper blade life, but if you're looking for clean
external glass with beading capabilities (without the Rain-x
hazing), you can just wipe down your glass using Hydro at
the end of each wash.
So back off ken
I am the ken of Clarity & you will not horn in on my brainwashing session sale
I am the ken of Clarity, you cannot resist me
lol!
reminds of a fly that was praying i didn't smash his head in. lol
(no, i did not squash him... i was too lazy to chase after him as i know
i'll find him later on the day anyway..)

Update: Mystique and Hydro
Since it rained last night, there were water spots all over my car. I decided to wash it despite more rain pending. I used Mystique wash. Smells nice, cleaned well, but didn't see how it is better than other store-bought stuff. I then wet-Hydro'd. It may not exactly be waxing, but it sure wasn't as easy as Kenchan makes it seem. Took a decent amount of "wiping." The results are nice, but not awesome. Maybe it's because I am new and need to fine-tune, but, overall, I am not convinced that the expense and time warrants the result over my local car wash.
you probably need to get a leaf blower and get the water out of the
crevise first. you can blow most of the water off the car with it too.
and the remaining water droplets you have on the car, use Hydro and
wipe down.
MINI's are pita to wash imho, this is another reason why i dont drive the
car in the rain. it's too much work for a tiny car to make it look perfect
again. but if you blow most of the water off of it first it will make your life
A LOT easier.
practice your routine and following the sequence. speed will come
naturally.

factory paint blemish
After hyrdo-ing, I noticed a spot on my bonnet that looks like a factory paint screw-up. An area where the paint looks swirled. It feels smooth though. Will something like Swirl or Amigo help? Something else?
apply some pressure on the pad. do 4-5 apps. if it still does not
come off, try Swirl, same 3-4 apps. should come off. if it doesn't
it might be under the clear.
Blah with the hydro, clarity and or Rainx if you want a clean window look no further then Slick it will clean anything and everything and make it look brand new.(Kidding Clarity, Hydro and Rainx are all great products)

hummm... you're off to a good start, but i think we need more technical
realworld observations such as how slippery things get after you apply
slick. how shiny it is to give that extra bright shine. how it leaves behind
a protective film almost like teflon. how it can withstand heat.

have you tried it over plastic or rubber? how does it look afterwards?
how about over your leatherette seats? can you use it as an interior
cleaner? how about fabrics? how about cleaning the cabrio tops?
lots of questions unanswered. lots of experimentation not done. much
room left for anyone becoming the ken of slick.
It looks like it is under the clear. So, what can I do about it?

I wouldn't waste time washing it again to maybe Sunday
Ok there is way too much involved in being the Ken of Slick

I too ordered Clarity after hearing all the hype about it here. I like the product, but I think I like the microfiber towel much better. I use Eagle One 20/20 for the glass and I must say - it does a tremendous job!!! I have not been able to tell if there is a difference between the two. I will probably order Clarity when I'm placing an order for something else, i.e. Hydro
, but not if I just need glass cleaner.
I used Hydro about 2 weeks ago and it has rained a whole lot in S.Fla. and the car looks pretty good so I'm really happy with it. Not so sure as to the shine since the car was Zaino'd previously and it just looks awesome after a wash.
LynnEl - just use different products until you find the right one for your car. I would suggest you spend a day waxing it and then you can keep up the shine w/ Hydro...you should be able to tell the difference between that and an automatic carwash.

Well, yes. But I decided to do it because it is the first time I was using these products. So, I figured, if I screwed it up, I would have another chance to try again soon. Plus, I was bored.

I haven't used Rain-X in many years. Last time I did, I was very underwhelmed. The water did turn into little beeds on my windshield, but they just held on. It made my wipers chatter. Having had Clarity on my car for several days and through a monster thunder storm, I revise my assessment. It's great. Whether it's worth the price? I'll have to see how long it lasts.
rain-x works well for cars that normally see expressway speeds...
under 45mph, the rain water doesn't roll off that well. you use your
wipers and it wears out the rain-x. wipers should not chatter as
rain-x has this lubricating properties. this is why you can extend
the life of your wiper inserts when you use rain-x.
i think for the most part, a very clean window would do just as well.
perhaps a Hydro'ed winshield might work even better.
in the winter time, it is easier to remove ice if you have rain-x on
the glass.
