The world gets smaller: we moved here from Camano Island!
PS: we may or may not be here when you come through (leaving on our own roadtrip 7/7 to VA via the Dragon), but the invite still stands. I can PM you directions.

The Garmin along with AAA route maps.... peace of mind.
I've been researching mounting devices, but since I'll use the unit between the three household cars, I think the 8 hour battery life should be sufficient. I can't imagine I would need it mounted the entire time. I foresee using it when "in need". I love the portability of the little creature. So, I'm thinking the suction cup on the windshield should work. Maybe not pretty, but practicality sometimes trumps asthetics.
I purchased an aftermarket RAM mount for mine. (Yeah...another mod...LOL!) Originally Posted by Blue Skies 05

It's a cool suction cup device. If you have the big cup holder thingie on the center stack (not sure if they are still included with the new MINIs), it can hold the Nav, too!
Once you hit a twisty area, you will want something to stabilize the Garmin. BTW, mine is nicknamed Nagatha, for the obvious reason. I muted her, though, and prefer to read the touchscreen.

What is a RAM mount? I've seen a few, but this doesn't ring a bell. No, the R56 doesn't have that cool cup holder (I LOVED it).
3cocinas, I will PM you. I think having group snaps of this lovely MINI world from all over would be a testimony to the power of......MINI fanaticism.
I just watched Gabe's "dance floor scene" on motoringfile.com. They are like my 8th graders at their formal Thursday night. Definitely happy campers
