To her, if she has to look hard to see them then they must not be there. Did I forget to mention using the old washcloth with an old 1 gallon ice cream pail??

I'm sorry I don't feel your pain.

My g/f wipes her feet before getting in the car and lets me know if I missed any spots or if she spots bird poop before I do so it can be cleaned asap.

Well trained

Its very much appreciated.

I never cared much about washing cars, let alone detailing them, until I joined the MINI cult in 2002.

Of course, I never had a vehicle that I loved as much as my MINIs. They are more than cars...they are love-objects meant to be coddled and pampered. It's amusing to see manly men act like girly girls when it comes to car care...tee hee!

I have noticed that "they" will spend a small fortune on clothes, shoes and hair, then drive off in their car that looks like a prop from the road chase in Mad Max.

I have always loved a clean/detailed car. I love washing my MINI except for the wheels. I always feel like I need to take them off to really get them clean and I am not a takeapartacargirl.

It's a perfect first day of summer and I thought that if Zaino products are good for my MINI they will make my house windows look spectacular too. I have this whole little scrubby/squeegee system I use and I put a few drops of Zaino car wash in the water, grabbed a piece of clay for the gunk on the windows and went to work this morning. Result gleaming windows!

Sad but true

As a female quasi-gearhead, I understand your lament that there just isn't a significant population of girls out there who care about things mechanical.

My best friend hadn't washed her car in years and she finally did it after she couldn't see through the windshield. She was somewhat amazed at how clean it looked but she took it through the automated washes. I'd like to see how she reacts if it ever got clayed and/or waxed!

When I tell people I wash my MINI by hand, they're not amazed, they're actually more perturbed. They don't understand why I don't just take it through the carwash at the gas station. And you'd think I grew a third eye or something when I tell them I just ordered stuff from a placed called Detailers' Paradise!

It's all quite funny... I'm sorry your wife didn't notice the work you put into getting her car clean!

I've been annoyed at the fact that my woman keeps begging me to detail her car... I guess i should change my point of view.

My gf is always quick to point out how dirty my car is or how I have sap/bugs/bird crap on it and I should clean it...

sigh... from one extreme to the other k_h_d

I am happy that my wife would rather wax herself than her car.

Oh how true! This is the funniest thread - I love it. My husband and I are BOTH so into car detail OCD it's scary! Thankfully mine is (are) my DS/W (easy color) MCS (and a BLACK - what was I thinking - turbo PT Cruiser), his is a Dark Green conversion van and an orange Opel GT. How the heck does he do the roof of that green van! Then again, who ever sees it.

by the same token...I'll spend days cleaning our house and the hubby doesn't notice a thing.
Yes, there are physiological differences between male and female brains and we are wired completely different from each other.
Vive la differance!

Well I gotta jump in here to say there are plenty of "them" on the male side too. I have never dated or been married to a man that kept his car as pretty as I keep mine.
So there back at ya

In reference to post #38 and post #42:

holycow!!...just woke up, 5:00 am, and turned on TV and there was an infommercial for Youthful Essence....consists of a diminshing abrasive polish and a PC-like random orbital buffer........and selection of polishing pads ......and the picture is just like post #38..........maybe as a prewash, they give you a small bottle of Mystique, and to clean your skin, they throw in a small bottle of the Wizard Bug Release.....their buffer is 4000 micro-revolutions/min: how does that compare to the PC?

maybe Heather really could branch out and tap in to a whole new market....but would think detailers paradise should include a washcloth size Monster Fluffy to dry your face afterwards
