10,000 mile MINI checkup

my 2005 mini is due for an oil change.it is basically used for commuting, hence the low mileage. but, what else should i have checked or replaced on my car? any input is much appreciated. thanks.

Check your air filter, MINI doesn't require a filter change until something like 60K, mine was filthy at 12K. The dealer won't even look at it, but they are cheap and easy to replace your self.

Definitely the filter. Mine was black when I put in a cold
air intake at 10k

Do you have the limited slip differential and does it make groaning noises when you turn? This is a serviceable item and there is a tech service bulletin from MINI on it.

thanks for all of your good advice

i have one more question. since my mini has seen a lot of stop and go driving, and is about 2 years old, should i consider doing a brake fluid flush now at 10,000 miles, or wait until the brake pads need replacement....?

and, no, i don't have limited slip differential on my car.

thanks again everyone..
