VW Zealot, I have seen you post on the Vortex also, i moved over to a mini also, taking delivery this week (I hope), have fun pots your cars stats and how you are liking it! Also post what made you want a mini???
wow, i didn't expect so many replies of congratulations. thanks!
hopefully soon. your dinner on the 11th looks like the most noob friendly, but i have a 1.5 hour comute to dc, going back on the weekend isn't my idea of fun =p
really? i was extremely active in the a2 and 16v forums about 5 years ago when i kinda of fell out of the hobby. since then i have become a lurker in the community sections, and post rarely. is psb your tex name?
i have always loved the idea behind the hot hatch, light, tossable, and fun. thats what i was doing with my gti, but i modified it to the point where its not longer a reliable daily driver, and after spinning the rod bearings twice on a built motor, im scared to drive it because it might break ;_;
i ended up getting a 98 passat as my daily driver, it wasn't my first choice but it was a nice car. after my experince with vw service i have pretty much decided that i will never own a new vw again that has to deal with them for warranty work.
ive never owned a rwd or awd car and i was looking to change things up a bit, so i test drove the mustang gt, wrx, evo, and mini s about 2 months ago. the mini is fwd but it was the only car out there i was willing to make that exception for just because it reminds me of my gti. the mustang gt felt to much like a heavy land boat, the wrx was nice, it would be my 2nd choice behind the mini. the evo was so fast it was retarded, id never been in anything that fast before. the problem with the evo for me was id probably get a ton of tickets, it cost a decent amount more than the other cars, and ins is much higher (its also kinda ugly).
the mini won me over because its fun. its also my first time buying a new car, and i really love how i can custom order so many different things from the dealer truely making my new car experince special by making the car my own.
i was going to save my owners manual reading for my comute, but it looks like i need to break it out today to change the time
