Had a Excellent MOS sevice experience...

Thought I'd share with all my MINI of Sterling Experience of last week. Just one data point but it was excellent so I thought I'd share.

I had taken my car in for the free pre track inspection a week ago Friday. They found a oil leak and a coolent leak. Small but needed to be taken care of. We scheduled a appointment for the following Wed morning.

I brought the car in and was checked in quickly. While checking me in they mentioned that my car was up for the recall convertabile top adjustment. I mentioned that I knew what that was all about and that my top was past getting shiny spots and that it was physically wearing. He said OK we'll order the new top and get that taken care of as well. They asked if I wanted it done that trip and I said no since I was off to PA in a couple days, just order it and call me to schedule that when it comes in.

I was given a loaner car and off to work. Loaner was a new Dodge Charger with 300 miles on it. I know some folks get their undies in a wad if they don't get a MINI or Bimmer for a loaner. I considerate that a unreasonable expectation and am happy with any late model loaner.

Michael Creason the 'new' guy was my SA and was great on communications, calling me to let me know how it was going and answering my questions. He let me know they'd need till Thursday to finish it up and extended my loaner car for a second day.

He followed through when I arrived to review exactly what they had done on the car.

My hat's off to Michael, he is one of the few people in the past few months to give me good, much less excellent customer service.

When I brought my MINI in for the Inspection II servicing, they gave me a loaner (and for the amount I paid for the service, they damned well better have ). The lady at the Enterprise desk literally breathed a sigh of relief when she asked if a non-MINI/BMW loaner was ok and I answered back that anything with 4 wheels and a go pedal was fine!

I ended up getting a Monte Carlo if I remember correctly. Nice big comfy car.

Good to hear that they done you right!

Eww! My mom has a Monte Carlo, and thats what I learned to drive in, well that and my 94' Towncar. I hate! her Monte Carlo. It feels like a sailboat (even compared to how the Lincoln did.) Booooo! Monte Carlos! Yay! MoS Service Department!

To Mark - Did you threaten them with Marina to get what you wanted. (Paul and Marina should get this joke the most)

Mike Arata e mailed me today and noted in the e mail they were trying to get their wait down to about one week. It seems to be a big area of focus for them right now. He thinks they are just about there.

That'd be great. Will be going back for a new top shortly, hopefully that experience will be as good!

Oh, the oil leak turned out to the O ring on the oil filter, and they did the last oil change. The coolent leak was the water pump which they replaced.

Got two post cards from MOS today.

One saying the top and associated parts are in,
The other for a appointment on Monday a.m.

Edit: Took car in Monday for new top under warranty. Got car back Tues a.m. and top looks perfect. Michael Creason again great on communications. I called him once and missed him. He returned the call in minutes! Wow.
