First few month of mini

Can anyone tell me how to care/drive a new born mini? I heard that you should not push RPM too high, but is there anything else ?

Just have fun, safe responsible fun.

There is an engine breakin period as well as a tire breakin period. THe tire one is for the first 200 miles, after that 200th mile your tires are primed and ready to go.

Tell us about your new MINI and maybe even post a picture of the new arrival. We love baby pictures!

I think the most common timeline for the engine is 1000 miles... Some people say 3 or 4.5k miles... But 1000 miles is reasonable. Don't get crazy with your Mini before then.

Its all in your manual. Your car came with a manual, right?

do not exceed 4200 rpms for the first 1250 mile, NO WOT, vary the speed (e.g., do not drive 100 miles at 65 MPH).

Best of luck!

thank you all for the answers....I am still a parent-to-be, but i already spent many long hours researching about how to care for the new baby. IVY is a PW/B, automatic...i would love to learn stick-shift, but maybe I will leave that for me next mini :D
