I bet Carlos can dry the tint enough to keep the windows down :-)

The FormulaOne Tint I had put on my car two weeks ago required me to keep the windows up for 72 hours.

Are these guys just going to be installing the dyed tint or the good metalic/ceramic stuff?

At all the track day stuff I've seen they require you to have the driver's side window down. It's a safety issue of some sort.

so if there is a driver side impact, the glass of the window dosnt shatter into your body, rather into the inner door

well of course you can watch. Maybe even hold a camera. And who's to say that if you're holding said camera and you are looking it over and by just happen to push a button by whilest somehow the business end of said camera was pointed at the aforementioned track with MINIs on it ....
well yea sure you could watch
I wouldn't mind

(just don't get me while in a spin)

That makes a little more sense. VIR is a pretty long haul even from Sterling. Either way I could use another track day/driving school thing. Especially with some of the other stuff I've done to the car. It would be a good idea to figure out breaking points (and braking) so nothing nasty happens on the street.

Jefferson Circiut

I would love to do the track day at Summit, but unfortunately I will be at VIR for the Cars Guys event. Most likely the track used will be the Jefferson. NASA is on the main track, and Audi club is on the Shenedoah.

The 8th seems to be the fall folliage drive in western maryland while the 15th seems to be the driving school at Summit Point.

From the first posting:

October 7 - a leaf peeping driving event in the Western MD area. Details to follow in a few weeks.

October 15 - I hope to annouce a very special event with MINI of Sterling in the next week or so. Would involve left turns only.......

On October 7 (Saturday) we are having a folliage drive in Western MD in the Cumberland area. I should have the posting up with details by the weekend.

On October 15 (Saturday) - we are being invited to participate in a track day event MINI of Sterling will host at Summit Point. Details are being finalized.

I hope you are not lost now.

I'm getting tinting on 10/14 too, can he really dry it so I can drive on Sunday at the track? I'd hate to have to pick which activity I want to do that weekend.

According to my calendar, the 15th of October is a Sunday.... Should it be the 14th? Or is it really on Sunday?

My guess would be that it's really on a Sunday. The track we are probably going to be using might have already been booked for the Saturday. Summit Point is pretty much booked every day of the week from spring until fall.

According to Summit Point's website MINI of Sterling is schedule for Sunday October 15th.

NASA has one of the tracks for it's own HPDEs and time trials and it looks like the Audi club has the other track for the weekend.

All times are GMT -7. The time now is 02:26 AM.
