No, I'm not going to be able to make it. This f'in schoolhouse is even more strict than I remember... I need to route a special request if I want to leave the area (50+ miles). I asked about this, but the 'higher-ups' think my plan is insane (and I kinda agree with them! )

Sorry!

-Paul.

The harness is still in its original box. and I did my autocross in Merriville on Saturday w/o it. I got third place in the ladies group ...

Now I have someone to blame for missing first place... and he is going to hear from me

Well, just talked to body shop and they FINALLY got parts from Sterling... It's been 6 WEEKS waiting on parts so far! In fact the truck brought some Friday and forgot the suspension bits. Took two more days for them to bring the rest. Over 6 weeks and they're just now able to start working on it.

Mark, based upon your description, it sounds like MINI of Sterling's parts department was the source of the delay... although you didn't actually spell it out that directly.

If that is the case, I do recommend you contact Herb Dinius, who is a parts manager at MoS, and actually attended MOTD4 (quite enthusiastically, I might add). If you need his direct phone number, let me know. I'm sure he will be very interested to hear of your problems, and will look into what caused the delay.

Thanks, if you don't mind PM me the number. I'm pretty sure I'm not done with the problems. I.E. I know some parts are needed for the seat too they're yet to be ordered. And I won't wait 6 weeks for those!

I did see Herb there, knew who he was but didn't get the chance to talk to him. Was pleased to see he came.

Hey Marina, on this harness deal... when you have the harness in the car, does it require eye-bolts to secure it?? I've got three of those things like welded in the Tiny~

My harness was installed on Friday a friend helped me (took 2 calls and one internet search to find out how to remove the back seat) but I was proud to do the job almost by myself

WIll use next weekend at my Autocross in Aberdeen.

Marina, I'm sorry if my advice wasn't accurate. I have only done it once, over 6 months ago, and I can barely remember!

OK guys you gonna like this. Saturday I was in Aberdeen ready to autocross.

Worked really hard to figure out the best fit for my harness but .. for some stupid reason (unknown to me ) I decided not to use my harness. So I took the whole thing down and raced w/ my CG which BTW pretty much ruined the back of my seat !!

So much bitching early on for nothing !! Must be a woman thing
