Way OT: need a welder

Anyone here weld? Want to make some money?

I have a '65 Land Rover sitting in my garage that needs (among 12398218931 other things) some welding on the frame to patch it. Bed is currently off and frame is exposed.

Please shoot me a line at david.endersbee@pillsburylaw.com if you're interested. Truck is immobile right now so you'd have to lug your stuff to Manassas.

Thanks!

Dave

Dave, I have a mig setup, but my welding skills are still limited. So much so that I'm not sure I'd trust my own welds on the frame of either my defender or my lwb.

But, If you want to give it a go, I'm game. Failing that, you could try seeing if roverland would be willing to patch it up. The other option is to post up on Mostly Metro and see if somebody there can hook you up. Dave on that list is a pretty good welder and their are a lot of leaf-sprung guys on there.

Good luck,

Tony

Tony, thanks for the offer. I got a couple people lined up from an ad in craigslist, so I should be set. Besides, I don't want any people who know Series Rovers to see the truck...they'd simply laugh at me and pat my head

It can't be all that bad, Dave! I've seen some with frames that are literally split that are still driving!

As long as you're playing with the frame, it's a good opportunity to get in there and waxoyl it as well as check the bulkhead. What year/length is it?

It's a '65 88". I am going to wirebrish the frame while I have the bed off...I probably should Waxoyl it...maybe I'll use oil instead. She ain't no show truck. The bulkhead has some issues to but I want to get the major interfere-with-safe-operation stuff out of the way first and do the bulkhead later.
