Happy Hour to Start Thanksgiving right

Just wondering if there would be interest in a MINI owner get-together at the Dogfish Brew Pub in Gaithersburg Tuesday November 22nd - perhaps lunch or a happy hour? Start your Thanksgiving holiday early, come out and give thanks for your MINI, living in Maryland (or VA), and really good beer!

EDIT: The plan is to do happy hour that Tuesday, starting around 5:30 to accomodate people's work/travel needs.

Dogfish is located at 800 West Diamond Avenue, just off Exit 10 on I-270.

Possibly interested, but too far for lunch (I work that day). Happy hour would be my vote, but I wouldn't be able to get there until at LEAST 6:30pm, possibly later. Would anyone still be there?

I think I'm good for Happy Hour or lunch. Later in the evening past 4 would work for me too.

I'm in

I'm in. I will be there whether it's lunch or Happy hour, but I'll vote for happy hour. Thanks for setting this up. The beer there is great, and the food is very reasonable.

So, it sounds like Happy Hour is the way to go. Perhaps a 5:30 start time until whenever?

A bit too far for me. Especially if drinking is involved.

I'd need to be within cab-ride distance.

If you don't drink yourself stupid you shouldn't have a problem.

Count me in!

I've been anxious to meet some of the people on the board so I would love to come. Lunch or Happy Hour is good for me I don't have far to go - but Happy Hour at 4 would definantly give me more time to socialize, since I'll have to go back to work if we do lunch

Hehehe... That's the problem. Now if someone volunteers to be my DD back to Bowie, MD, I'm in.

Indimini - if you were serious about changing it to 5:30pm (I hope so - greater chance people will still be there by the time I make it!), can you edit your original post to reflect that?

Edge,

Thanks for the reminder (I always forget I can go back and edit my original posts ). I've updated my first message to indicate a planned happy hour on the 22nd. Looking forward to meeting some new folks and seeing some old friends.

When can an Aussie knock back an excuse to have a beer... any one have a good idea how a 6ft + guy can sleep off my drunken state in my MCS ????

Worst case, I can get my wife to bring around the paddy wagon (er, I mean Honda Odyssey) and anybody who wants can sleep off the happy hour w/o having to worry about driving back to the wilds of wherever you call home.

Lol, that's how I feel whenever I see an upcoming breakfast at Tate or a DCMM meeting in Alexandria.

Sadly, weekend events rarely fit in with the kids' schedules, so I mostly just get to read about DCMM events.

well, it is DC Metro Minis........i would suggest that if a bunch want to get to together during the week, or in another area.......go and do it. It is nice to get a large bunch together, but often a small 4-6 people group can be just as interesting.

(note, the proceeding was an opinion expressed by an individual with a callsign of Grumbler, if you expect to agree with this person 100%/50%/25% of the time, you are probably not going to have much luck.......on the other hand, if you are looking to expand your horizons, and embrace change with his opinions........you are probably wrong again )

Friday is the 25th and unless it was some out of the way joint I don't think that would work out too well. Trying to find some place that isn't going to be packed on black friday sounds like a challenge.
