Pass me that bottle of Advil....oh and can you turn up the heating pad? Lordy, talk about creaky...my joints sound like a box of Rice Krispies that a whole bottle of milk's been poured into.

I hope The Coopster got a BIG treat for being such a good boy. What a sweetie

Thank you all btw for watching my four-legged friend while I was karting - I didn't mean to bring him but I also didn't want him indoors all day today and it was good for him to socialize with all of you guys. :-)

Great Day Thanks to MoS for the sponsorship of the event.

Brurgers at 5 Guys was a great time to let the adrenalin decay

Very nice! Captured the day very well!

It seems like a lot of us were turning in sub-25 sec laptimes - we could go back and qualify for the super karts!

Or maybe take the MINI for another spin

Soooo verrry bruised. uuuugh. Had tons of fun, we need to do that as much as possible.

Took me a while to get down the track and the handling. Still never quite got the correct line around the hairpin and I have no idea how I got the 23.201 but I think it was when everyone else was pitting so I had a more open track.

Big thanks to the Sterling folks for sponsoring it.

oh yeah, based on some of the times we got yesterday some of us would have been in the all time top 50 lap times for the 6.5HP carts.

More pics...

..there are a few more pics at

http://www.matarella.com/mark/MINI/A...arts/index.htm

There's a action shot of Matt and Paul.

Used up one my stash of 800mg Ibuprofens last night

Definately need to go back. I'd like to set up FRS radios though so someone could feed the driver lap times. Be nice to have feedback on lines and such.

That was awesome... even though I know I need a lot of practice (that turn 1 just screwed me up so many times!), I had a blast, and I'm glad everyone else did too. Many kudos to MINI of Sterling for their very generous support.

Congratulations to the winning teams - very impressive driving! Makes me want to practice more, get my lines down better.

Yeah yeah, you rock... I bow to your superior kart driving... etc etc

Are you sure it wasn't 23.200 or 23.202? Positive? Hehe.

Seriously though, nice driving.

Yep, I have the official timing sheet that says 23.201. Like I said, no clue how I got that.

I hurt all over, and that was some of the best fun I had in a long while!!

And once again, many thanks to Mike from MINI of Sterling and MINI of Sterling itself for ponying up much of the $$!!! This could not have happened without them!

And thanks for everyone who attended for a really awesome day!!

Not only was it a fun day, but I discovered my new MINI sitting on the back lot at MINI of Sterling!!!!! WOOHOO

Pick up day is Saturday, so looks like I'll be making the next event in it instead of "uncle bimmer".

Its not a Plus sign. Its a sign from G.O.D. (Good Over Driving) saying your being baptised in the ways of racing and you must come back and be one of my holey racers. In which i empower you to do more and longer Karting events like Mugami whos running in a 300 lap karting event this weekend on the 6th with 73 lap stints instead of just 15.

Oh and who you calling a Ringer

Tony, both you and Marshal were the ringers. 73 laps at a time??!! My aching back..lordy. That must be exhausting. Where's the event? In Richmond?? That's a cool track as well....
