Yeah, and I fear that trying to re-route the wire myself would do more bad than good. If it's gonna rain tomorrow, I'm not gonna bring the CAI. Rather wait until it's gonna be nice out or at least not raining to do it.

Let's Do It

FWIW, Val and I are game to do this if the rest of you are. We'll be at the BK by ~8:45. If the rain is like it was today, we may even have some breaks that might hopefully coincide with our planned stops. Keepin fingers crossed. What do you say?

I dunno....I just stood under a lil tent at FedEx all day and my feet are soaked.
BUT....I got to drive a Lotus Elise....twice. A total of 6 laps in 2 different models. Base model and one with a sports package.

Two words..."HOLY S.....!!!

It was pouring out and those cars stuck like glue to the course that was set up in F Lot at FedEx. Criswell Lotus ponied up the money, and the board of the WDCR chapter of the SCCA (who autocross at FedEx) got the 1st dibs of the sesstion times.. It helps to be married to a board member. The rain was a PITA, I'd like to have driven on dry pavement...and we all got pretty wet, even though there was a little canopy thingy to stand under.

Long story short, I'm gonna bail on the drive. Drive safe and have fun!

I am going to bail too :(. Tomorrow's reported rain is the same weather I totalled another car in, just dont trust my eyes.... (If you knew how bad my eyes were you'd understand)

Next time though for sure! Hopefully I see some of you next week at install-o-raama 05.

Wow. I just got home, and am quite surprised no one has commented on the success of todays run, despite literally 'being rained on all day'.

Got some other stuff to attend to, but will elaborate later or tomorrow, and probably include pics.

I had a blast today I think the rain added a bit more to our drive. Made for very interesting wet driving

I have a ginormous panorama I made from our stop over on the bridge. I'll post a scaled down version somewhere as the full size is a wee bit too big for most (8 megs).

You all actually did this run in that rain?

More power to you

While your having fun, my breakers trip, power to sump pump gone and sump starts to overflow, had to get the generator running till I figured WTH was going on. Not a good day

Glad some ppl had fun:smile:

Congrats to Mike, Val and Paul for what appears to have been a very successful, first ever, DCMM Run in The Rain!

Sorry I couldn't be there

Despite the rain, I think we all had a great time. The rain did bring us a few challenges though. We had a lot of water on the roads, as would have been expected. We had a bit more water flowing across the road where it goes through the quarry operation; more like a small river. And we had a tree across the road at one point too. All in all it kept us on our toes. The rain did let up for long enough for us to have one photo stop. I'll sort through the ones I took and hope get them posted later this week. Great run all.

Yup, good fun all! The rain did mean we had to stay on our toes, but it was still a great time! Thanks to everyone who braved the weather and came out!

For those of you that were at the Summit Point Track Day, you will know what I mean when I say the Skid Pad training paid off, a couple of times!

About 25% of the R&R pics are up in my DCMM gallery. Just learned how to do batch photo resizes, but don't yet know how to batch upload into my gallery. It's an option, but it seems bugged. Coppermine says 'Select directory to grab FTP files' from, but it doesn't have a browse button or place to put in a path.

Anyhow:

Will be updating with more later this week.

This weekend has been just crazy busy for me, so posting hasn't been accessible really. Anyhoo, I had a BLAST! Mike, Paul, Val - excellent run!! I hope the movie afterwards was great too, sorry I couldn't make it! You guys should have motored on to visit me! Woulda hooked you all up! I understand though, that a lot of people didn't want to be out in the rain and the muck and the long drives people had to take. The run was fantabolous though! 5 stars! Will buy again!!

Thanks, Wagnbat for those pics.

No worries. Decided to do the rest today. 65 pics added.

Those are all resized, and I think I got all the license plates out.

If you want the full size unedited pics, pm me the pic # or #'s, and an email address which can handle large files. Each unedited pic is about 3-4 megs.

I'll eventually get that panorama I took online somewhere. I've been really lazy recently.
