Congratulations to Brian Garfield
Congratulations to Brian Garfield
For those of you who follow the SCCA Autocross activities, you will be proud to learn that Mt Airy's own Brian Garfield killed the competition in G Stock at the 2005 SoloFinale. The results are available on the web here; scroll down to page 4 to see the GS results. Brian claimed first place by only 83 milliseconds (less time than it takes me to hit the period at the end of this sentence).
Any of you who have taken the DC Region Autocross School have met Brian who serves as Novice Coordinator. Brian just posted this note about the DC Area 2006 School Schedule.
Many of you saw Brians' new 2005 MCS at last spring's Towson event. It sure looks like Mini's "stock" LSD (that stands for Limited Slip Differential, not some noxious evil acid) and the new gear ratios made for a GS winner. In fact, I note that ALL the cars that made the finals were 2005 MCSs and 6 of the top 8 positions wore Kumho shoes. But there are rumors that the 2005 MCSs are so good that they may be bumped up a notch to FS, so Mini's hypercompetitivity in GS may not last.
Good show Brian -- we're proud of ya!
