Welcome!! When are ya moving down? There's a event going on the 14th, and there will be at least a couple more driving events before winter comes. And there's always breakfasts & dinners scheduled!

Hope to see you soon!

Glad to see another transplant! I spent almost 10 years in Atlanta (Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, etc) before moving here. Well, I took a 3-year side trip to NYC and a brief stop in Baltimore first...

You'll really like it here, depending on where in DC you move to. West of DC along the toll road is pretty similar to the suburbs of Atlanta (Herndon, Ashburn, etc).

I think it's posted on the Mid-Atlantic Region Forum. There's a thread here at NAM: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=48029

There's also some information on eastcoasteuro.net. Check 'em out.

Don't worry about the post, it's all gravy.

If you are looking for regular crazy MINI poeple the DCMM is not for you ... but if you are looking for some really crazy MINIACs then you are with the right group.

Where in DC are you moving to?

Welcome to the mid-atlantic.

We've got a great club, with active members, and good active people leading it forward. Lots of social & driving events, good fun, and good times.

And we're all crazy.

The event on the 14th is posted a couple threads up, and it is a driving event with eating - which is our second favorite thing to do - in the Annapolis area. I have not heard much about the all Euro meet and don't know how many people from our club are planning to attend. I know that I won't be there due to work.

Details on the Euro meet are over in Mid-Atlantic, DCMM is not involved with that event although several members do participate in it...

The Euro event...

I went to the last (first). There were 4 MINIs there. Lotsa Bimmer, Benz, VW and such. One Lambo. It was primarily a stand around and chat, wander around and look at cars kinda thing.

I did find it was a very, VERY young crowd. I've got clothes older than those kids! Might be why no less than 3 police cruisers came by, though it seemed some of the kids knew the officers, which may or may not be a good thing.

hey hey now. i'm a kid and i like hanging around nice cars.

And we don't need to stereotype... cops liked to hang around the classic car meets in my area. maybe they have good reason to, but not all of us kids are to blame for it

Didn't mean anything negative...

...just felt a little older for a while and a little out of place. I still enjoyed...

Why out of place? I'm sure the kids felt more out of place.

Well...

It was about 75 or so aged 20-25 and 2 aged 40-45. But then I've always been young at heart. Heck, I'm still hoping to have a couple mini MINI drivers if ya know what I mean. In which case I do need to hang with a slightly younger crowd 'cause the ladies my age mostly either have all they want or just didn't and don't want.

I think that since there have been so many disturbances at these meets, cops tend to keep a watchful eye out just in case anyone tries to pull anything stupid. If we're just sitting there, I don't think it bothers them too much. I've been to some meets where the cops are out walking around enjoying the cars just as much as the kids were

I envy them if they're being paid to be able to drool over cars.

You can help me! There's a crap load of stuff I wanna do with mein car, but I haven't the finances right now anyways. The first one I'm getting is the 19% pulley () but will need someone to put it one that won't charge an arm, leg, and/or possibly soul for it.
