I'll keep an eye out for ya! Ive seen a bunch in the area so far, but nobody waves! It seems most of them I saw were in regular Minis, piloted by old ladies...., the only enthusiatic wave I saw was from a Yellow S with a Checker roof that zoomed by the opposite lane. Cheers to you Yellow S dude!

Zack

P.S. Any advice on where to get some tinting done? Should I wait for the DCMM card to arrive to get a discount somewhere? Any help appreciated....

A bunch of people(including myself) have gotten their tinting done by Carlos at Solar Solutions in Laurel, MD. I am sure there is someplace closer to you, but I can vouch for Carlos in Laurel.

We got our tint in Glen Burnie. I cannot remember the place though, some speed shop. They charged us $200 for carbon tint and looks good.

Ours was a little more expensive because it is carbon, and it is 5%. HP Racing is the name of the place. They did a good job, and I am happy

Yesterday as I crested the hill on Browns Mill Road heading towards Reston Lola's twin, coming from the opposite direction, also crested the hill. We were both going too fast to wave at the time so here is my belated wave

Moving in July...

hi folks -

I am moving up to the DC metro area in July. I am glad there is such a big MINI club in the area!

I will have a few questions and any help you might be able to provide would be very very much appreciated.

I have been down in Norfolk for just 6 months and now I am being transferred to the DC area.

I would appreciate some advice on neighborhoods and MINI dealers Northeast of DC ranging towards Baltimore. I have plans to attend some evening classes in columbia, MD - so that's one pin in the map ...

best regards,

robs_silver_MINI

Hello new and patiently waiting new members!

To say that we have had a few unexpected disasters come up with filling the new member applications since March would be an understatement. I am sorry about this and take responsibility.

The good news is that I think we have a way around it for the future.

I got a whole bunch of new member cards in the mail Friday. I spend yesterday getting them into envelopes and hope to have them in the mail on Tuesday morning. The cards will be coming BEFORE you get your new member package.

I hope in the next 10 days to get caught up with folks who applied in March and April. Anyone who joined in May, please sit tight. It will be about a month before we get everything in for you.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding and PLEASE come join us at an event soon.

Jen

I think the closest MINI dealer to Baltimore is MINI of Towson. They are a well respected dealer with a very good service department. Your other choices would be Tate in Annapolis MD and MINI of Sterling in VA.

I am not familiar enough with the Baltimore area to make a recommendation on where to live. Sorry!

Neighborhoods? Columbia is nice, but pricey. Homes in Elkridge are still in Howard county but doesn't have to pay all the additional fees. Odenton has Piney Orchard which is nice. Plus it's close to the tracks so you can ride the train to DC. Laurel has some decent places near Savage Mill.

Are you working in the city or up near Ft. Meade?

Renewals will get a new membership card. We generally don't send out anything else, but if you drop me a PM I can send you some business cards. Please also PM the name if you did renew so I can check you on the list.

Thanks, I got my card......time to start the Mods......I didnt get my Cooper in time for MOTD. (I considered driving an imposter car with rally stripes to the event but couldnt bring myself to it since the "ride" is what it's all about and I'm sure I wouldnt have enjoyed the Tail of the Dragon without a real "handler". Needless to say, I will be there next year. Anywho, just wanted to check in now that I am a DCMM member.

You would have been in good company driving a fake MINI at the Dragon. There were a few!!! I am sure you will make it next year...
