Convertible not compatible with CD changer and Alarm System
Convertible not compatible with CD changer and Alarm System
Evidently the dealer installed CD Changer and Alarm System that have been used on the Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper S tintops are not compatible with the Mini Cooper Convertibles.
The dealer (who really wanted to sell those options to me when I balked at the others that had "pre-configured" on the card) took them off the order of my vehicle.
The car finally arrived at the dealership today and they are supposed to have it ready for pickup tomorrow since all they really have to do to the vehicle is put on the wheel locks, give me the car cover, put in the carpeted mats and get the car ready for sale.
I'm kind of surprised they didn't find out until now that the CD Changer and Alarm System didn't work on the convertible.

Well...that stinks for those who ordered those options! Glad I didn't get either one. I opted not to get the alarm based on all the negative posts on MINI2 also!...
David - say Hello to my Cabrio when you go to pick up your car - it's still sitting on the lot ready to go - awaiting the shipper to pick her up...
 Dang I can't wait to get it!!! It's the Cool Blue S.....

Finally got it Wednesday Evening!!
Finally picked up my new Cool Blue Cooper Cabrio early Wednesday evening.
My brother (who I typically refer to as the car snob - he has a Mercedes CLK 500 and has owned a BMW 320i, BMW 533i, BMW M5, BMW 850i and a BMW M3) loves the car!
Picked up the car, went over to his house and of course he wanted to drive it. We picked up his step daughter at her boyfriend's house after he put "Leanna" through her paces. She announced she wanted one just like it for her first car. My brother said "Get a Job".
He thought the Cool Blue color is great, loved the dark blue leather seats with the orange stitching, thought the chrome line interior looked perfect in the car, loved the silver dash and thought the car handled like a dream.
He finally said "You done good!". Pretty amazing endorsement from him on my choice of a car.
Here's a picture of "Leanna" even before I sat in the driver's seat:

By the way, "Leanna" is the diminutive form of "Elleana" which means "Daughter of the Sun" in Old English.
This car is so much fun to drive...

I've read threads on MINI2 where even the rain will set the alarm off
