MINI of Annapolis service restructure
MINI of Annapolis service restructure
I've read some posts about the issues with MOA's service (or lack of) back in August and September of 2008. I can't however, seem to find any new information. Last time it was spoken of, it seems that they were restructuring the service center.
Does anyone have any updated news on their service? has it gotten better or still the same?
I'm interested in buying a MCS since MOA is only 15 minutes from my house. Otherwise, i'd have to go to Towson which is an hour away and isn't really practical.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

The service at MoA is still quite good for most of us, most of the time. There will always be exceptions at every dealership, but I've been treated well at MoA. My suggestion is to visit both of the dealerships you mentioned to get a sense of how they treat you. Maybe visit the service waiting rooms and chat with some of the folks there to get their input. Your gut impressions will be a good guide as to where you'll feel most welcome in future visits.
From other posts, it seems that most of us are reasonably well satisfied with MoA (or Tate, as it used to be named) but that most folks who express an opinion absolutely LOVE the sales/service staff at Towson.
Last I heard, MoA's long term plans were to remodel the old Chevy building to house BMW sales, parts and service, and the current BMW facility would then be devoted exclusively to MINIs. I think it would be realistic not to expect that to happen in the immediate future, considering the economic climate.
Hope that helps!

After a 2 year absence from MoA (formally Tate), I went back this past week cuz my heater went kaputski. I, too, live very close to MoA, and I didn't want to go to Towson.
My experience was very good. At first they thought it was my thermostat and related parts...a $400 fix..erk
. Turns out, it was just my coolant tank, which was replaced in an hour. And it was 1/4 the price originally quoted. And I got a 10% DCMM discount on the parts.
The SA, Ryan Malin, was polite and informative and went the extra mile, going outside in his shirtsleeves in the cold and sleet, to make sure all was done correctly and in a timely manner.
As to the restructering, I have nothing new to report. I imagine it's going to take them a long time to switch stuff around.
Deal with Ryan and I think you'll have a good experience.
