Congratulations on your new position! I hope you enjoy it and can share some of the trade secrets heretofore we've not been privy.

Sweet! Congrats on the job Krut! They've got a real winner on their hands there. I'll let you know when (if) I'm in the market for another one.

BTW, let me know when you know the pricing on the 09 sport package that incorporates DTC into the DSC programming.

Kurt,

I've been very happy and excited for you since I heard about this last week. Congrats!

One question: Do you think now that you'll actually break with tradition and buy your next MINI (9th, is it?) from MoS instead of Tate/MoA?

Now you face the current scourge of all MA's.... How to close a the deal where someone comes in wanting to trade in their fully financed, 2008 Cadillac Escalade....

I hope you really enjoy your new workplace! Everyone should find a place to work where they are surrounded by things that bring them joy!

That can be a challenge - since we're building cars now for week 45/46/47 production - I tell people take your "insert gas guzzling thing here" to CarMax and get a quote on a buy from them. Also, the resale values on KBB and Edmunds are slightly inflated - that's a bigger challenge to face.

What's nice is I don't get involved in evaluating the trade-in - that's a call of management - and I do get to see interesting stuff come in - for example we have a 1998 Ferrari F355 on our used car lot.

And thanks for that kind feedback Peter - it is true you do need to do something you love - I haven't woken up this happy for work in I don't know how long - yes there's a lot of uncertainty in the economy etc, but when I see the order banks for MINIs fllled up for the next two months and MINI sales have only declined a fraction of what they were for last September and a lot less than BMW - I know I've made the right choice.

The MAs at MoS have all been very helpful in helping getting me up and running with some of the systems and processes.

So again, thank you for your kind comments!

It's not silver with Florida tags, is it?

KBB and Edmunds aren't inflated as much as Manheim auction is lowballing.

It's extraordinary that you can combine your means to make a living with your interest in MINIs. You're a lucky dude!

I for one would be happy to purchase a MINI from you. Both my MA and my Service Advisor are MINI owners and enthusiasts; that gives customers peace of mind. It's a relief to see the dealer staff believes in the product enough to own one!

I saw that! When the enterprise person said my loaner was the "small red one over there" I got really really excited because the Ferrari was sitting there. Alas... her definition of a "small red one" and mine were different.

Gratz Kapn Krutty Kawrins. I wonder if someone will come and see you to trade their Lexus in for a Mini Cooper S automatic that they can mod.

Good luck!

BTW, that makes a trip to British Pantry convenient for you, ya? *hint*hint*

It does.. PM your address to me so I can send you some bars.

And John a customer mentioned his neighbor had a Silk Green MINI and was now driving a newer Cooper and he drove it very "spiritedly" and I said.. John DeCrema? And the man responded YES! that's his name!

Your friend, pal and MA Krutty.

I'm haunted....

I will have to stop by. I was going to do that today but got caught up in relaying a banner to the NC folks. I'm in South Hill Va as I type.

ps Caught up only because I wanted to. It's the cancer awareness banner that was launched a while ago. I would have liked to brought it to a DCMM event but the timing was not good. Maybe another time
