My '04 MCS now has 75K miles and I'm kind of embarrassed (yet relieved) that all I've done to it is replace the brakes once and change the oil frequently.

I'll be calling Mini of Annapolis this week to talk to the Service Manager about what he/she would suggest for a check-up/tune-up. Do you have any idea what services he/she might recommend? New spark plugs, fluid flushes? (And how expensive this is going to be?!)

I have a sinking feeling that whatever the recommendation, it will be PRICEY to have done at the dealership. So if you have a recommendation for a great mechanic in the Annapolis area who knows his way around a Mini, I'm all ears!

 

An oil change (if you're due), flushing and refilling the coolant and hydraulic fluid, at a minimum, along with replacing the cabin A/C filter if it's never been done. Did you have the dealer perform "Inspection I" when it came due? If so, the cabin air filter should have been replaced then.

75k is in the ballpark for when "Inspection II" should come due, so I would just go by that. I believe Inspection II also includes changing the serpentine engine belt.

 

Thanks Scott. No, I have not done Inspection I. Didn't even know it was called Inspection I. After some board searches, I was able to find the service checklists for both inspections. Thanks!
