Just saying Hi

I just recently bought a 2008 MCS pepper white, and live in the falls church area. I want to test the waters and see who was out their.

Welcome aboard

I hope your new toy brings you bunches of happiness

Have you joined DCMM yet? We've got loads of activities going on, including monthly breakfast gatherings at the three Baltimore/DC area MINI dealerships, coffee gatherings in unique places whenever anyone organizes them (hint, hint, wink, wink), and many organized club drives through the best roads Virginia and Maryland have to offer.

There are LOTS of food oriented activities, including a fabulous picnic and MINI family reunion this summer. And every run usually includes a stop at a great restaurant. So come on down and join us for the fun!

Sounds great, might be uncomfortable going to the dealerships, I bought mine used from mercedes... lol

I asked this in coupe talk, but maybe you could give your opinion. My car is three months old and has 4000 miles on it. Is there a way to make sure everything is in order with MINI and the warranty?

Hi jhayd11!

Definitely try to join if you can! I joined back in early January, and i've been on two runs so far with DCMM, and they are by far the best group of people I've had a chance to meet!

And they are all very helpful when you have questions on your MINI

No reason not to make friends with the folks in the dealerships... you bought a used car. It's no skin off their backs. And it's always a good idea to know where to go for service and parts, like oil and filters. MINI is very particular about which oil you put in the engine, and considering that the car comes with (and should still be covered by) a 36,000 mile free service plan, I suspect you'd want to take advantage of that, too.

The dealer can check on your car's history, warranty status, etc. If it were me, I'd make an appointment with MINI of Sterling for an oil change and a checkup, and they can answer all your questions. Sure, you'll spend a few dollars, but you'll know for sure where you stand, and that your new MINI is in perfect shape.

There are other great places to take your car for service, too. But I think a MINI dealer is where you'd want to go for the initial info gathering. Just my two cents. Hope it helps!

Welcome to the world of MINIs! You will LOVE your new baby, if you don't already! DCMM is a great club, with a BUNCH of MINIaddicts! We love hanging out and would love to see you and your newest member of the family join ours!

As for going to the dealers.. Don't worry. I bought both ours "broken in" and have had NO problems getting them serviced at our dealers.

Hope you consider joining DCMM, you won't regret it! It is such a good group of people.
