I dropped Penny at MoS this morning. Chris quoted me about $1100 for the windshield replacement, which I'd have to pay for up front then submit to Geico for partial reimbursement. While that sucks and it's not the way I'd prefer to have things done, it seems much better than putting forth the time and effort to haggle with Safelite or another auto glass company over the quality of their aftermarket parts and jerry-rigging methods of installation. I've heard so many horror stories of non-MINI installation...

Chris, all of the MoS employees, and the Enterprise Rep I spoke with were all very cordial and accomodating. I didn't buy Penny at MoS, so I didn't get a MINI rental; I'm poking around town in a Mazda 3. Not ideal, but not torture, either. I'll survive a day with a Zoom-Zoom.

I'll post again when there's more to report, and I'll be sure to include dollars and cents for those who requested figures.
