Having finally automated the process by which I can timeshift and playback my favorite net radio streams in my car, it distresses me to no end that the overtly greedy RIAA has found support from the Trademark office in Washington.

If the proposed new rate structure for royalties is implemented, it will mean the end to most of the high quality music programming currently available via the internet.

I use Pandora & last.fm.

They are both great services & I almost exclusively listen to Pandora now (even though I pay for Launch radio!) because the new kinds of music that I am exposed to is a lot more to my liking than Launch's.

I hope they can come to some sort of agreement on these silly royalty rates

Best part is Pandora used to work on the Nintendo Wii (via the opera browser) before I upgraded. Now only last.fm does

 

You mean the Copyright Royalties Board (CRB), I think.
