Shocks - Suspension

What are the go to options for replacement shocks and or replaceable suspension parts that will still keep you in D Street?

My suspension currently has 115k Chicago potholed miles on it and I'm sure it will eventually need some refreshing once I get the energy/money to do so.

I believe the rule for shocks is, any shock within an inch of the original stock length (most shocks automatically fall in this category if they have an application for the MINI). For autocross in particular, people do anything from 4g fully custom setups, external reservoirs, penskes, etc. all the way down to your ubiquitous koni yellow.

I personally went with bilstein sports, which i got custom valved by Fat Cat Motorsports. It all depends on just how far you want to go.

I see Koni yellows are on sale. Still would run about $800 for all 4 so I may wait until next season.

I'll save that link for when I'm ready to buy.

Thank you!

here's some good info on shocks as well http://farnorthracing.com/autocross_secrets18.html (and why I went with Bilsteins). I was going to go with Konis before I did more research on them.. ***** inaccurate, you have to pull out the rear ones if you want to make any adjustments for the MINI, all the custom valved ones tend to blow, etc.. Bilsteins are legit. Turner had a 10% off sale just last month... oh well

That's a neat website in itself. I have some reading material here at work now.

My custom valved Koni's have 20k street miles on them and are fine. That site isn't a bible. There's years of Mini development experience to draw from and there have been many trophies and jackets won on Konis.
