Well, I know I've seen a thread like this before, but search yielded no results. And I'm not sure if it was specifically for the R56's or not...so if someone could put me in the right direction....

Anyway, we are re-modeling our 2 bathrooms at our house and had to go to the wonderful Home Depot to pick up some supplies. Hubby's truck was filled to the brim with the remnants of our old bathroom, so we couldn't take the truck...so we were left with the MINI! I had no doubt everything we needed would fit, but hubby called and friend over with his car to follow us just in case. Here's the end result:



Inside we have: 2 adult passengers, a full size toilet in a box, a roll of wall insulation, about 15 boxes of tile, 2 bags of grout mix, a ceiling/exhaust vent fan, numerous tools, and an emergency roadside kit, among things I'm probably forgetting. And notice, we could have fit more on top of the other boxes of tile.

So what all have you guys fit in your minis?

 

OMG!! I don't think I could do that to my Mini... That is a lot of stuff (no pun intended) stuffed in such a small car.

 

Well when i moved up to school, i had quite a bit of stuff packed into my mini...




Couldn't see that much out the back haha... Side mirrors help a bit

Even the passenger seat got some use

I went to Sears planning to buy a little air compressor, so I just drove the MINI instead of the F-150. Long story short, I end up buying the biggest air compressor they had. So when the guys roll the thing out to merchandise pickup and see that I'm driving a MINI, they look at me like... well... like I was a complete idiot. They basically laugh and say it's never going to fit. I say that I think they'll be surprised, and sure enough, we moved the passenger seat forward and the box was just the perfect width to fit longways through the hatch opening... And it was just barely too long to close the hatch, so I just grabbed one of the hooks from the nets in the back and hooked it to the latch on the hatch. Perfect, and the MINI surprises everyone once again.

Sabes, that IS a lot of stuff you've got in there! I know I've seen a thread like this before, just can't find it...so hopefully if it gets discovered the threads can be merged and we can compile a huge list for all the nay-sayers out there!

on a separate occassion, which was not assembled but in flat box....it barely squeaked in my mini...had to push the front seats up a bit and the width was just barely fitting! But no one believed it would fit in the MINI either, but it did!

You can fit more. Driving a stick reduces the amount of the stuff I can put in the car because I can't get any closer to the clutch without spinning it up.

I had a total of 7 people in my R53 once...

It was quite the feat let me tell you...

 

Damn, I've only had 6 in mine. And that's when I had my back seats out.

 

We went by Home Depot to look at kitchen appliances and found the "perfect" Wine Cooler. I can't find the picture but we managed to fit a 44 bottle wine cooler, in the box into the back of my R56. Having the rear seat delete helped! With the Thule bike rack on it, I was able to deliver molding, lumber and other 8-12 foot "things" to the house from Home Depot and other places.

 

My biggest feat so far in My Mini is hauling two people's band equipment for a show...two 100+ watt amp/PA systems, a 65 lb. keyboard, electric guitar in a flight case, heavy-duty keyboard stand, effects pedal rack, and two mic stands, plus my band mate in the front seat. It was...interesting. I was impressed everything fit!

 

I think I love my MINI too much to put that many things in it...whether it be 7 people, 6 people, toilets, tiles or insulation. So far the most that has been in my MINI are amp/sub, and 3 people (including me) at once LOL.

 

2 bikes, 2 english bulldogs, luggage for the trip plus a roast that I was bringing to my inlaws

Biggest thing I've fit in it was a giant shop vac...

 

I play keyboards in a band ... I regularly load in two boards, amp, monitor, keyboard stand, mic stand, amp stands, and a gig bag with what feels like about 700 lbs of cables, mics, mixer, power supplies and other assorted crap. Only 'problem' is that I have to push the pass seat all the way forward to fit the 76-key stage piano; but the best part is that I could still squeeze in a bit more if I had to. One of these days I'll get a pic.

 

The time has come to revive this thread.

 

No pics unfortunately, but last carshow (which I was supposed to be in, before my previous car died) I acted as sort of an equipment hauler for the team. I ended up with 12 collapsing bag chairs, 2 50 quart coolers 1 for "adult" beverages the other for water and cokes, 2 bags of clothes, various display items for storage overnight, a generator(once again for overnight storage), and various other things. The rest of the team (a group of mazda enthusiasts) were absolutely floored at how much stuff the car could actually hold, and honestly, I was too.

 

A few weeks ago when I had to sell my tires and had a hockey game right after. I was impressed at how much room I still had!

Stuffed a 110yr old solid oak roll top desk in mine and then drove 250 miles. Somehow everyone survived!

 

On a weekly basis, my son and I load two large hockey bags, a puck bag and 4 sticks into either my 11 MCS or my son's 09 MCCS and we still have lots of room to spare. I would guess we could add a couple coolers full of beer for the team if we needed to.

 

I work for EMC corporation in Massachusetts. They recently did a product launch were they broke the record for folks fitting into a mini.
