I picked up my new midnight black metallic MCS yesterday. I ordered it sight unseen and I'm so happy with it. It's a beautiful color. Here are some pics. Enjoy!

Great looking car, midnight black is awesome!! I ordered mine without seeing it first too, definitely happy with the decision. You better get used to cleaning it though, it gets dirty very easily and very quickly

Yeah, Midnight Black is a great color. Of course, it would be better if it weren't a blasted metallic. But then it would be called Jet Black.

Sorry... I'm strongly anti-metallic (check my sig, you'll see). Try to touch-up metallic paint and you'll see one reason why.

Here is an overview of the paint formulations of both, just so you can see why they might look a bit different (or not):

ASTRO:
16.8% Special Black
41.8% Ebony
9.3% Pearl Purple
14.8% Pearl Blue
8.2% Coarse Silver
8.7% Emerald
0.4% Yellow


MIDNIGHT:
80% Ebony
3% White
8% Special Effect
2.6% Violet
2.7% Azure Blue
1.9% Deep Blue
1.8% Pearl White



So while Astro is 58% Black, Midnight is 80% Black, but both formulations contain blues & purples.

 

Just curious, Eric... do you have the formula for Jet Black ? BTW, where did you find those ?

I stopped by BMW of SF a few weeks ago to check out some of the MCSs they had, good amount of cars but I don't think I saw that combination.
