It doesn't...
Good question, and one that I sweated over for about...5 seconds! It rarely rains here in the desert, and when it does it comes down in buckets for 30 minutes, then it's over. The water tends to sheet off the windows and car. Yes, you get a little rooster tail misting, but by then I'm using my rear mirrors, or home. I found I was so unaccustomed to having a car with a rear wiper that I never used it anyway.
And--it gathered dust and debris like a little shelf, that would then grind away at my rear window with micro vibrations (great.) So for me (and not necessarily anyone else, even though another NM MINI motorer has already approached me to discuss the mod with him,) it was a net gain -- cleaner look, cleaner rear window, less weight (ha!) and no loss in any practical sense.

PS, Im helping another MINI owner do his aero grille on Saturday-- after he saw my website on mods. Now this is what owning a MINI is all about to me!
PPS btw, I am getting a new vanity plate, so I don't want any of you who see me to get confused!
cheers,

For the super clean look on the boot I really like the looks of removing the badges. Have you thought of taking them off your MCS Gandini? It would really clean it up with the removal of the wiper!
Yak lol why pick only 1 silver/grey. Wow when there are 2 more additionally excruciatingly exciting silvers/greys to pick from. I mean in my view we have light silver, medium silver, & dark silver/turd/grey. lol
. Go sliver go!!!

My '02 ds/w MCS with white bonnet stripes was totalled in an accident on Dec 12. I'm so mesmerized by the color that I have ordered a ds/ds '06 with white side-mirror caps and will be adding white shelby stripes from Aesthetic Creations to the bonnet, roof, boot and rear bumper. I'll be transferring a silver M7 lower front grill from the '02 to the '06 and staying with silver V-spoke wheels. I should be going into production next week.

.That you were right about! He has smoke indicators.
Today I will be playing the part of JustinO's secretary, who has too much work to do to distract himself on NAM ;-)
