New 2009 MINI model information
My MA Steve Gilmore at MINI of Omaha just told me about some big changes coming from MINI.
Cooper and Cooper S Convertibles will premiere March 28th of 2009. They will start at $24,550 and $27,450 and come with all of the standard features the R56 and R55 come with such as On-board computer and DSC. PDC is no longer standard on the R57 Convertibles.
Lightning Blue is being replaced by Horizon Blue on all models except it won't be available on the Cooper S Convertible.
Cooper S Convertible will be premiering a new solid color called Interchange Yellow that looks almost like Phoenix Gold on the last generation M3.
Paddle shifters on the standard Cooper models won't be available any longer with the automatic transmission, only on the Cooper S model after March.
The 16" Bridge Spoke, 17" Crown Spoke, 17" Web Spoke, and new 17" Bullet Spoke exclusive to the new Convertible will all be offering in a black wheel color.
The ashtray and cigarette lighter won't be standard any longer after March.
The CD Changer Prep won't be standard any longer as MINI only sold 50 CD changers statewide last year.
You can now have the standard Interior Color Carbon Black doors and trim panels when you add either Tuscan Beige, Redwood Red Lounge, or Hot Chocolate interior seats.
A new factory installed wind deflector will be optional, not sure what that means.
A new rear rack system will be added at the factory for $100 that will allow for other accessories such as rear mounted bike racks to be added.
I am super excited and am really anxious to check out the new R57 Convertible, all changes won't take effect until March production. The new Convertibles can be ordered in a week or so. If you're one of the first then the smoker's prep and paddle shifters on the automatic Cooper Convertibles will be included.
