and the reason for not using an MCS base is???? emotional connection?

I heard its possible to attach a rocket engine to a cooper too

1 - I don't HAVE a MCS...
2 - I have that "personal" attachment thing going
3 - Well, have you SEEN my list of mods in the sticky at the top of the
section?
4 - I have too much blood, sweat and so many tears in this thing that I
would have my **** handed to me if I sold it.
5 - Plus, the wife is getting used to the no interior thing
6 - Cause I'm different. Just ask Tuls, Kalbone, Stoopidgirl and all the others
that know me.

Just like I should have bought a 330 or a M3 instead of my 325. Saving me mad money when I do a motor swap. But, I did go with the V8 on the Touareg....You have to learn sometime.

the minis doorpanels appear to be think along with some other stuff. But I cant imagine it being tooo too much weight. now the carpet and going on a full diet would yield a pretty substantial weight loss Im guessing..

Well....EVERYTHING except for the dash is being pulled now since the cage I'm putting in at the moment isn't fitting (cause I have a moonroof-it's an 1 1/2 lower, and I WILL GET IT IN). I also have Sparco seats. I don't know how much weight I have lost. Plus, I have an 11lb. battery and 18" rims. But, you have to also consider that I am putting back in most if not all the weight from the cage and the Stoptech BBK. Also, on the diet is a CF hood, fenders, hatch and Craftsquare mirrors. You can come down here and weigh all this stuff cause I know I'm not.

Haha ya, The cage will add about 80pounds back to the car and the brake kit will add some weight, but should still be less than stock. Unless he added some heavy rotors.

YOUR WRONG! If the rotors and calipers feel a lot heavier than OEM, I'm sure I'm ADDING weight. And the cage total probably weighs in at 125 lbs total. That's alot. But, at the moment, it is being my little wh^&^&re to put in. Stupid moonroof. I'm about to blast this mallet through the glass.

Yeah, but an interior wont give you NEAR AS MUCH ridgity as the roll cage, its a really good trade off
