Anyone have any thoughts on the ITG drop in filter as opposed to a K&N filter?

I have the ITG in my 2006 Cooper Cabrio. The throttle was much more responsive right after I installed it and my gas mileage inceased sligthly too. It also sounds better than the stock paper filter.

 

I installed the ITG filter about 6 months ago at the same time I installed a MyMini touring exhaust. Love the exhaust but my guess about the filter is that it just lightened my wallet by $55 dollars with no other effect. Hard to say for sure since I did two things at the same time.

Also, I managed to break the top of the airbox while removing it...and I discovered it's impossible to reuse the clamp on the airbox/air intake hose connection. A plastic tie wrap works fine.

 

It's been about a month since I had it done and I feel sure the improvements I feel aren't coming from the placebo effect. It revs quicker, feels peppier and, best of all, it seem a lot easier to take off without bogging on a hot day with the AC on. The only thing I'm not sure of is how it would respond on a 105 degree day, only had 93 since the ECU upgrade.

If you take your MC to the dealer I would definately ask for the latest ECU upgrade.
