Has anyone successfully removed the OEM battery and mounted a Deka/Braille battery in the OEM location on a non-S?

For me, the ideal mounting bracket for the non-s would fit inside the existing battery box so that the engine would still have the OEM appearance.

 

Go to the Summitt Racing website and pick an appropriate size battery box. Drill mounting holes. Presto....Deka battery in a stock location

 

what about the fact that the ecu is in the battery box? I wanted to move my battery to the rear like on the MCS, but don't know what to do because the ecu is in the same enclosure. I thought about trying to buy a stock MCS intake, but that adds a lot to the cost and I don't think it is a direct fit.

 

I'm strapping that biotch to the side of my Summitt Racing battery box. Improvise.

ps, for my S, I just cut up dense packing foam (used for shipping TVs and the like) and used the stock retaining hardware. Look So so, but works great!
