Personally, I would like to see a trick intake manifold with TB to go with the Cosworth head, an aggressive "race" cam, and a CF non-scoop bonnet.
Well we actually have a stock Coope head at the fabrication shop as of last week so it is honestly something we are giving a shot at. No promises but we are giving it another shot. Your other requests are all doable and we already have a TB for the Cooper. An intake is also in the thought process stage and the Cosworth head will not be a problem if the market is there. In any event we are trying but we have too many ideas and too few hands at the moment

Guys, any feedback for the flywheel? I have searched a lot, and the feedback i get is not clear. Some say is will make the car slower in high speeds, other say it makes the car much harder to launch ( i don't mean in daily drive...), and some other say that it is really worth it, and it makes a big difference. Ofcourse, the opinions always depend on the drivers experience and knowledg...

Do we have any facts? Let's say we forget the downsides, Will it really add something in terms of performance? Performance wise, what is your experience? (NOT opinion, Experience!!)

I went to a lightweight Spec with my transmission upgrade (to 6-spd Getrag ) in my R50 and I can tell you it is harder to get moving. Part of that is the taller gearing of the S tranny (the earlier 02-04 version), but I'm sure part is the flywheel. From my research it lowers the weight the engine "sees", so the car accelerates quicker (I found some equations on it too). For an original Mini, I think someone calculated 1lb off the flywheel is equivalent to like 10lbs taken off the car or something.

If you can handle the harder starting, go for it. I don't know about money well spent or not. I was replacing mine anyway, so the money was spent regardless.

Good luck!
