DSC Error after fitting multifunction steering wheel

Hi All,

I have recently fit a MFSW to my Automatic 2008 Mini Cooper D. I already had a compatible SZL and all radio buttons are working as expected, however, after re-calibrating the steering angle sensor with ISTA I have been receiving the following warning lights - though they only appear once I have gained a bit of speed driving straight and the steering wheel corrects itself to the displayed angle (It believes that to be straight for some reason). I can clear the fault codes for the car and moving slowly back and forth does not cause the steering wheel to correct as such and I can see from ISTA that the steering angle and DSC angle sensor are all at 0 degrees - so I'm confused as to what is going on here.

Oh, additional information would be that the only fault codes that stick to my car are for no communication to the head unit (I have that Chinese after market one so it's to be expected) and 005E34 (DSC Steering Angle Sensor, adjustment error) which shows up when it pulls the steering wheel to the displayed angle.

I'm at the end of my tether with this and don't really want to take it into a garage to be rinsed by them for something that can hopefully be resolved myself. So with that, any and all help anyone may have regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

You’ll probably have better luck over in the second gen forum.

Did you physically swap the steering wheel? Possible that the clock spring got damaged…
