What are the physical dimensions of the engine in an R50, for swapping purposes?

Hi, I am considering using an R50 as the basis for an electric car conversion. I'd mate an electric drive motor to the spindle of the manual transmission.

How big is the engine and rotating assembly (alternator belts, etc) on the R50? How much space will I have to work with?

Thank you

Not sure on the dimensions, but you might find the recent thread on the UK MINI forum on an electric R53 conversion project using a Leaf motor and inverter with BMW battery packs interesting.
