Just picked up a base Cooper 1.5 liter turbo in the United States and as I understand it and having checked the VIN, supposedly this has a B36C engine.

I reached out to Burger Tuning and am assured that the JB4 will work, but he also informed me that it has a B38 engine (which the Internet seems to disagree with).

Can anyone confirm if the JB4 will work on this car? If not, are there any tuning solutions that specifically will work on this car?

I've tried searching but not being able to confirm for sure which engine I have muddies the waters a bit. Thanks!

 

The engine is technically a B38, the B36 mid 2015 on, and B36C 5/2019 on, are designations where updates were done for emissions, and fuel economy.

I see on Burger site, the JB4 is only up to 2019 for the 3cyl.
I do know for one the B36C and later MAF sensor is different in design, (oval hole, vs rectangle hole)
