N12 / N16 Engine 2008 Clubman

I am looking at a rebuild or engine swap on my Non S model 08 clubman.

I have looked over a lot of the stuff on the differences on the N12 and N16 engine and have considered a low millage N16 for a replacement.

I see the block is slightly different, The oil pump and a valve they added to the oil pump is the only real difference from the N12. The valve added looks like the vanos valve. Did they just relocate the valve to the oil pump? Does the N16 block still have the old vanos hookup? I was thinking I may have to use a N12 oilpump.

Just trying to narrow this possible swap down.

I wound up just getting a running n12 out of a wrecked car with a 6 month warranty. I did find out the added valve just bleeds off oil pressure at higher rpm to reduce drag. So you might still be Able to use one. It i didn't chance it with out a straight answer. I would still like to know myself. And will be installing that N12 this time home from work.
