Nitrous mod!
Nitrous mod!
So brand spanking new to this site 😁, I have a 2004 Mini Cooper 1.6 base model. No other mods have been done yet as of right now but I am planning a k&n typhoon intake. What I'm really curious to know is can I add nitrous to my car? Just curious if it needs any certain modifications before doing so. Thanks for the info guys!
The limitation that you have with the base is the trans. I'd do the 6spd base trans, or the S trans (6 speed) 1st ( if you have your heart set on keeping the Justa ).
Other than that - there's no reason why the Justa shouldn't be able to handle a well-tuned 75 shot. Colder plugs - aftermarket fuel pump and of course a way to tune it.
Then, of course there is deciding between a wet or dry kit - and a way to tune your fuel and timing maps.

do you have any suggestions on a way to tune it?
I'm not familiar with the differences between the S & Justa fuel systems, I can tell you that the factory S fuel system can handle the extra fuel needed for the fuel side of a 100 shot wet system, so if they are similar (the S system carries 60+ psi) you'll be fine there.
For ease of tuning and engine safety, I'd only go wet.
You should also invest in a wideband AFR gauge and setup, this is pretty much a must for safety and tuning.
You'll of course have to run premium "all" the time.
I would not even think of anything over a 125 shot on factory internals. (factory ring gaps are just too tight) and nothing over a 75 shot without a custom tune and possibly W/M or Race Gas as an extra anti-detonation safe guard.
I would also recommend a computer/electronically controlled delivery system over a simple solenoid and WOT switch.

Depends on Wet or Dry, and how big of a shot.
A small (50-75) shot with a wet kit, you can basically tune yourself with the fuel jetting and spark plug reading.
