Loving my new f56 but don't like having 2 blank toggle spaces. ECS tuning sells individual toggles. https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/Toggle_Switch/ES176569/

Anybody tried adding toggles as dummies on a f56? Sounds like you might have to pull the toggle bank off which scares me a bit, also I'd be worried about snapping out the blanks without damaging the rest of the plastic. Just wondering how involved this is or if it's been tried on the new minis.

 

The switches are all part of one unit. I suspect it would work ok.

ECS has them for $26.25 or $28.38

There's a thread or two where people have taken the centre console apart, a recent one was where they were adding the secret compartment.

If you plug in the toggle bank and the car doesn't have the features what happens? Does the car have any issues or does it just ignore the switches that don't work?

 

+ it has to be coded if you add other switch in the pack fr Gen 3.

the one you listed 64113452459 ES176569 is for the Gen 2 MINIs.

Gen 3 get a bank of switches already installed.

 

But if you just get the bank with all the switches and you don't have the feature will the car freak out? I don't think it will because the car isn't coded for those features but I may be wrong. Need someone with experience to chime in.

 

No, they will just not work. It has to be coded for additional options.
