Non-S Clubman

I'm new to North American Motoring and this is my first post. Just bought my first mini (2009 non S clubman, 6 speed auto) w/40K miles. I heard BMW recommends a tranny flush at 100K. Is this real? Please advise, thanks

Welcome!

The transmission fluid is supposed to be "lifetime", I guess that means the lifetime of the transmission. lol

The Bentley manual recommends 100,000 mile fluid changes, but that may be too long an interval. Do a search here for "automatic transmission" and you'll find the consensus is more like 50,000 miles. There is a lot of discussion about the Aisin automatic transmission here in the forums.

Thanks Dave. I felt that 100K seems a bit too far out, seeing the cost to replace or fix one of these trannys.
