Thumper Performance

First time posting here...let's hope this works out for me! My Mini is a non-S version. I have a K&N cold air intake and will soon be doing a Borla Cat-Back system. Ive been looking at the Thumper Performance head and cam package. It works out for me because they are close to my house. This means I can drop off the old head when I drive there to pick up the new one (obviously in my truck)! Can someone share their experience with this company? Any problems that werent dealt with quickly? Good customer service? Hows the performance of this combo? Do I need to get my intakes ported and polished or should I just buy a new intake from them? I'm not sure if the cam will come with a new Cam Gear on it..Anyhow, Im looking forward to your help, thanks!

I use Mike at Thumper for my race car. I chose him because he has many years of experience and truly understands the "whys and hows" of heads. He understands the Mini fully. I recomend him highly and if you are nearby it would be well worth your time to go talk with him.

Anytime someone is going to replace a part as big as a head you should always go to a dyno and get a baseline HP/Torque map, then replace your head and go to that same dyno and see what you get. Don't replace everything under the sun, just a part at a time. That way you can prove what you did or didn't gain.

Bumping this ancient thread for interest. Anyone on here have a Thumper head and NS1 camshaft in the R50? Any before/after dyno numbers? I've read the testimonials but I'd like to talk to car owners themselves and get an impression before I consider spending that kind of cash.
