New to Mini & tuning

hey everyone i got a new Mini Cooper non S 2010

trying to start tuning it. have not done any car work personally so i am new to all this. my friend tune up all of their cars so im kinda trying to get into the loop.

so my first question is really where should i start?

i was thinking about just getting a Cool air intake but not sure which one and how to go about doing it.

next probably an exhaust.

basically im just trying to go faster and sound less like a remote controlled car at this point haha

any help you guys could provide would be great.

Wrong forum, friend. This is for 2002-2006 Coopers.

Many will tell you that trying to wring any measurable power out of a Cooper is going to be tough. Sure, an intake and exhaust will make it breathe better, and potentially give you some horsepower increase, but you'll likely not be able to feel it. It'll sure sound nicer, and may therefore have a "placebo" effect; to give you virtual horsepower!

Unless you get a new head, cam and header, you probably won't be able to notice faster 0-60 or 1/4 mile times. But with those mods, you'll be spending mucho dinero.

Enough to have justified having purchased a Cooper S in the first place, and still have yielded more power. It's a tough lesson to learn, but it's probably true nonetheless.
