Changing Grill, Lost a screw/clamp/whateveritscalled

So I changed my grill back from the JCW one to the stock fish-gills and in the process lost one of the 4 screw-clamp thingys that go along the top of the grill to secure to the car. It fell next to the left headlight and I cannot see it, let alone grab it. I just put it back on with the 3 screws I did not drop, and it seems fine, but just to be sure... Is this a generic type of item or is this mini specific? I'm sure I dont need one, because it seems to be fine, but always like to have things correct.

Thanks in advance.

Can you get to it by removing the access cap behind the headlight? (round piece in the wheel well) If you can't find it the grill should be fine with three connectors, but you can find something similar that will work at your local auto parts store.

I broke one of mine swapping grilles, and I've only had 3 ever since. No problems.

If you want it to match exactly, it's a mini part.

If you post a pic, I'll check our supplies in my bodyshop since we have 3 minis in there now. We usually have misc. clips laying around.

Seems as though ever time I work on my MINI I am always breaking, losing or bending a screw, nut, washer, plastic thingy, clip, bolt or some other nameless item.

It must be a law of nature, or car mechanics for those of us who do not do this sort of stuff everyday.

Oh, don't worry... it happens to us that wrench all the time.

Kind of like Murphy's Law... a nut/clip dropped will roll under your car to a length indirectly proportional to the length of your arm.

Fortunately, the mini is small and you can almost reach across the bottom.

I lost one of these when I put my grill badge on my MINI. Ordered 4 of them from OutMotoriing when I bought the JCW Aero grill. Drove for a week or so without it with no issue, and wanted to have extras in case I lost another one when installing the grill.

Great grill and great service from OutMotoring.com!

Great eveyone, thanks a lot. Yea in the outmotoring link, it looks like G i think, but sure enough the finger model is blocking a little of it.. They all seem to look similar, like B, or I, but I remember the clip being black, def not yellow. I'll definitley be buying these replacement clips soon when i get the black beltline and a few other small things. Hey Aaron(Outmotoring), are you guys going to get any new badges soon? Probably not of high importance compared to other things you carry, just double checking..

Again thanks for the help..! Gotta love NAM for the attention such a small thread gets..

Cheers!
