Ahhhh chubv!! Best looking non-S I've ever seen. Those are my favorite wheels, plus I've never seen a PW just a cooper with the JCW kit. Awesome!!!

drewstermalloy 02-03-2010 12:42 PM

PS- Can you tell me how/what parts you used for the Mazda antenna? I've been wanting to do it but don't know exactly how. Thanks.

I only bought the antenna itself. Fits without problems. But maybe that differs between european and US MINIs.
Attachment 45896

In europe it is normally mounted f.e. on the Mazda3 MPS. Sould be Mazdaspeed3 in US.
Easiest way should be to ask a Mazda dealer if you can try one if it fits on your MINI ;)

drewstermalloy 02-03-2010 04:03 PM

I'll have to check, but I think the antenna base is bigger on my car than it is in the picture you attached. If I end up keeping my car for a while I might just shave the antenna all together.

I'm fairly certain those are the Recaros available on Euro JCW's.

My first mod was a custom open cone intake. Really Improves the engine note. Now have custom Magnaflow exhaust also (no sound clips yet).

28% tint on front sides, 10% rear

Blacked out parts:
Joey mod, Headlight Rings, Taillight Rings, Boot Handle, JCW Grill, Side Reflector Tint, Side Turn Signals, Boot Handle, "Cooper-S" Gas Cap

So many people go for the blacked out look, I kind of want to see more chromed bling, as that's my current attraction. I wonder how the chrome mirror caps look on a PW/B Justa. If I had the budget, I'd go chrome everything. I'm probably compensating for 16 years of low to no chrome cars. :D

texaspaul 02-09-2010 10:30 PM

Well, to each his own...
For me I love "contrast". For my PW, that means black; for other colors... it could mean chrome.

Something interesting I have observed... While "everybody" seems to be going blacked out on NAM... most MINI's I see in person are stock or chromed out.

pfriedel 02-09-2010 11:56 PM

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, I dig the blacked out look and I'm taking notes for my wife's black with black and more black clubman, but I'm feeling a distinct chrome shortage in my life.

And on reflection, that might be why I want to see more chrome - she has the better blackout subject, so I want to go the entirely opposite direction.

It does seem like MINI is putting more stock chrome on the car - I don't think I specifically had any added to mine (base lot model but IIRC the big addons were the sunroof and cold weather package), and I notice a lot more chrome on it compared to earlier models.

tmo8462 02-10-2010 03:45 AM

It would seem that the two of us are following the same wants with mods, I just finished my custom MagnaFlow exhaust. any pic of it yet? mine are at the top. and heres my sound check on it.

where did you get the black out boot handle? I've been trying to find it. It's the only thing I have left to black out and I cant seem to find it any where!

Semi-Blacked out MINI Badge...

4 Attachment(s)
Got bored while on leave and waiting for my grill and other associated black out parts to arrive, and decided to black out the majority of the front and rear MINI badges. I had seen totally blaked out badges and decided to leave the MINI and the small ring as the only shineys...once the grill and other parts get here I'll do the light rings and area around the grill in one shot...just got impatient and wanted to play with the Plastidip.

Fatman, that looks great! Do you have some more pics?

Those JCW racing seats are sick! Can they be purchased in the USA?

KeenanAD 02-19-2010 03:06 PM

I am new to North American Motoring. Just ordered a 2010 R56. Chili Red with black roof and bonnet stripes. We also ordered the sport package with black bridge spoke wheels and the factory installed aero kit (non JCW). We didn't get any other options except for the armrest. My husband convinced me that a manual transmission is the way to go so I have 6 weeks to learn how to drive!

tmo8462 02-19-2010 03:30 PM

Welcome to the family. And your hubby is right a manual transmission is the way to go.

My wife learned in about 3 days and she got MINI fever and drives let say rather "spiritually". You are going to love it!

drewstermalloy 03-01-2010 09:29 AM

Where did you order the wheels from? Did they come with the new lugs or did you have to buy them separately?

tmo8462 03-01-2010 09:43 AM

Drew about $1500 total with lugs, mounted, balanced, and shipped from discounttireddirect.com. only took about 3-4 weeks to get them here. longest wait was for them to get them from Tenzo.
